The look of this sharpener is inspired by the Elegant Ikon lines. It can be used by right-handed and left-handed people. It has a rubber base that keeps it from sliding on the counter when in use. The sharpener features 2 channels for sharpening. One is marked Coarse and this is for when a knife has really become dull. The other marked Fine is for fine tuning your blade. Simply set the blade in a channel and pull straight back. Do not push down on the blade. The channels are already set at the proper angle for your Wusthof knives.
If your knife is dull you will want to start in the coarse channel, pulling it through that channel and then progress to the fine channel. When in the fine channel keep pulling it through until it smoothly glides through. When finished, rinse dry and use or store your knife.
