Made in Japan, these Shun Premier knives also have super-sharp blades that stay sharp for longer because they have a core made from VG-MAX "super steel." Shun Premier knives come with a lifetime warranty with normal use and proper care.
The VG-Max steel, hardened to 61 degrees Rockwell, creates the cutting edge of the blade. It is designed to handle being sharpened to a very narrow angle. It will also hold its razor sharp edge for a long time, needing infrequent sharpening.
The hand hammered finish reduces friction and keeps foods from sticking to the blade. The beautiful PakkaWood handle is as comfortable as it is beautiful.
